This is the paradox of being a certain kind of lesbian in a shopping mall during Pride month.
I was there to buy a suit for a summer wedding but like many butch leaning women before me I had no luck in the women’s department (too girlie) and no luck in the men’s (too big). In early June, I was at the Eaton Centre surrounded on all sides by trademarked rainbows and endless corporate sponsored affirmations of LGBTQ Pride.
